This is my 1999 Shelby Series 1. Only 249 were made, of which about 240 were silver in color. Different colors were an $8,000 option. This car is 1 of 15 with the optional supercharger, which required the big brake kit and leather interior. The price on this car new was $190,600.

It is the only car that Carroll Shelby built from the ground up, he did not start with an existing platform. It utilized the Olds Aurora engine from the Indy cars, along with a ZF 6 speed transaxle. The suspension was a rocker arm setup straight out of Formula 1 cars. This car is capable of over 1G in lateral acceleration. It is a high strung beast that handles like a go-cart!
